(Windows 7 only) This is especially helpful if you are subscribed to a 3G wireless broadband. You have internet connection basically wherever you go, and it makes total sense to share it with your other WiFi enabled devices, or even to your Facebook addict friends.
Sharing your internet connection via WiFi on Windows 7 is much easier than you probably think. No need of going through the control panel, setting up new connection etc. All you have to do is install this little application—Connectify.
After installing Connectify, you can make your Windows 7 laptop into a WiFi hotspot by entering a few parameters:

- Name your WiFi hotspot
- Select password
- Select which internet connection you would like to share
- Select Hotspot mode
The next thing you have to do is to hit the big “Start Hotspot” button and you are good to go!
Stop Connectify from launching on every Windows logon
By default, Connectify will launch itself everytime you start your PC. To disable this:
- Go to
Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Toolsand select System Configuration - Click on the Startup tab
- Uncheck Connectify
Alternatively:
- Go to
Control Panel\System and Security\Administrative Toolsand select Task Scheduler - Select Connectify
- On the right sidebar, under Selected Item, click on Disable.

Too bad they only support Windows 7. I believe there are ways to share your internet connection via Wi-Fi on other older OS, but might be more tedious.
I’ve just recently upgraded to Windows 7 and I gotta say I love it

Vista is pretty fine, until you tried Win7 which I think is a real major improvement. I wouldn’t recommend dumping Vista just for Win7 though, unless you’re getting a new PC.

Hi Vincent, this might be off-topic but related to Windows 7.
I just reformatted my Toshiba L310 Dualcore with 2 Gig RAM and installed Windows7. Everything’s fine except for the audio.
I cannot use the built-in mic and headset mic as well. Have you experienced the same?
Thanks.

If you stop the service from the startup like this will it still be able to launch the hotspot on request?

Thank you for sharing such a great information. Now I can share internet with only one modem in my office and thus reducing my internet charges.
Do other devices should also have windows 7 and does one can use mobile devices also.
