Before I got my iPhone, foobar2000 was my primary music player. Which feature do I miss most after making the switch to iTunes? Not the lightweight-ness, not the components (add-ons), but the ability to control the player using hotkeys no matter what you are doing on your PC.

After getting rid of 2 big bags worth of old unwanted items from my drawers and shelf (some items date back to 8 years), I sit back and see what else I could do to unclutter my workstation. Two tangled earphones on my desk came to my attention, and naturally I Google for a way to handle them.

Using the same method as how we batch rename files, we can also change the file extensions of a series of files easily, without the need of any software. All you need is a Notepad or any other text editor.

I am not a fan of installing new softwares for every single task I want to perform on my computer. There are many softwares, both free and commercial, that will do batch or bulk files renaming, but the fact is, all you need is just a notepad (on Windows).
