    • Vincent - January 2, 2011 @ 5:35 pm

Thanks. Just a temporary spike in earnings for this holiday season, will definitely be back to the usual range in January.

  2. niki - January 2, 2011 @ 9:41 pm

    congrats dude ..

  3. niki - January 2, 2011 @ 9:46 pm

how many article did you posted totally to earn $400 with Social Spark dude ???

    • Vincent - January 2, 2011 @ 11:09 pm

Three articles. One of the advertiser offer way higher than the other two due to its time sensitive nature.

I doubt there will be any offer of that price anymore, at least not until the next holiday season.

      • niki - January 3, 2011 @ 1:37 am

@Vincent, happy that u r replying .. can u mention the price of the three article seperately ???

        thanks in advance ..

        happy new year ..

        • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 10:35 am

I’m not sure if the advertisers will be happy if I reveal the prices here, but one article is priced at 3 figures, while the other two at 2 figures. Do some maths for the approximate πŸ˜‰

          Happy new year!

  4. JK - January 3, 2011 @ 12:29 am

ItÒ€ℒs awesome and very encouraging. I would like to know the age of your blog, just for comparison.

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 10:38 am

SheepTech is almost 3 year old, but I did not write much in the earlier days. You can check my post frequency at the Archives.

  5. Shiva@Webmasters Tips - January 3, 2011 @ 2:34 am

Pretty good earning mate. Congrats on that and it seems your traffic did not drop much in the Holidays season. Keep up the good work dude.

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 10:40 am

There’s a slight dent in the traffic chart near Christmas, but overall still not much effect.

      Thank you, you too πŸ™‚

  6. Vuong - January 3, 2011 @ 1:19 pm

Congrats for your success mate. I see last month seemly you wrote less but earned more.

When will I can reach yours? Hic!

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 1:49 pm

@Vuong, I don’t really make money writing new articles. Most of the earnings are generated a few old popular articles.

But of course, the more I write the higher the chance more articles will become popular. The difficult part is to know which article will hit the jackpot.

      • Vuong - January 4, 2011 @ 5:29 pm

@Vincent, I certainly agree with you. I think that is the most beneficial income from out passive work.

I think you should install the plugin that help the readers know your most popular posts.

I really impressive with your success indeed.

  7. Alvin Lim - January 3, 2011 @ 2:28 pm

Congrats. It seems that you don’t have much articles but the traffic is awesome. Do you mind to share how to achieve 100,000 mark?

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 3:10 pm

Google are sending boatloads of traffic to a few popular articles. Which 100,000 mark?

Most of the popular articles are how-to articles. People are Googling for solutions, and I’m providing it, so it’s kinda win-win.

      • Alvin Lim - January 3, 2011 @ 6:34 pm

@Vincent, I mean you broke the Alexa ranking 100,000 mark and have many good quality articles. That is great and I should learn from you. Anyway, thanks for sharing πŸ™‚

        • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 7:01 pm

Alexa ranking is proportional to traffic (supposedly, but it’s inaccurate at times). As your traffic builds, your Alexa ranking improves.

Nice blog you have there too πŸ˜‰

  8. Praveen@Techperk - January 3, 2011 @ 4:58 pm

Excellent stats, i guess your Ads are making bounce rate high

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 7:02 pm

      I guess so too. But I can’t say that’s a bad thing :p

  9. Steve Yu - January 3, 2011 @ 9:39 pm

Wow, very impressive. $400 from 3 articles, is really a good money! πŸ™‚

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 10:51 pm

I initially thought the IZEA representative wrongly included my email when they send me the offer.

Turns out the advertiser is being really generous in order to go all out for the holiday season. Only if all my offers are priced that way πŸ˜€

  10. Kimi@wordpress video tutorial - January 3, 2011 @ 10:21 pm

    Congratulations!

That’s very impressing, and inspiring another bloggers.

Your hard work deserves it Vincent.

Keep it up, happy 2011 πŸ™‚

    Kimi-.

    • Vincent - January 3, 2011 @ 10:53 pm

Thanks Kimi. Happy new year to you too πŸ™‚

  11. Saket - January 5, 2011 @ 7:22 pm

Congrats Vincent. Your Traffic is really high but looks like lots of work needs to be done on avg pageviews and bounce rate part. I’m also struggling with the same.

    • Vincent - January 5, 2011 @ 8:32 pm

AdSense CTR is relatively high on this blog, combining with other ads like Infolinks, bounce rate becomes a tad too high.

Plus SheepTech’s content is not focused, it spreads on several topics that are not quite related. Visitors would leave once they decide this is not the hub to look for extensive content on their intended topic.

  12. Michael Aulia @CravingTech.com - January 7, 2011 @ 8:37 am

$700 from AdSense alone? Nice! I got more traffic than you but my AdSense earning is like half than yours!

    and yeah, SocialSpark rocks πŸ™‚

    • Vincent - January 7, 2011 @ 2:16 pm

I was trying to increase it further by using premium formats like yours, but the representative from TechMediaNetwork stopped responding after a few email exchange.

Will try again when I have more traffic.

I see that you are not reporting SocialSpark’s earnings on your statistics. I hope they are not against bloggers revealing earnings?

      • Michael Aulia @CravingTech.com - January 7, 2011 @ 2:22 pm

Oh, I normally do (SocialSpark). Only when I’ve got the money transferred to my PayPal so you’ll see the SocialSpark earnings next month πŸ™‚

  13. niki - February 6, 2011 @ 12:52 pm
