CommentLuv LogoAs you probably have already know, SheepTech is now CommentLuv enabled. While it is clearly helpful in increasing the number of comments, it’s also adding clutter that I deem unnecessary, the info panel. It appears whenever you hover your cursor on the little heart next to each CommentLuv link, providing little to no value, in my opinion.

CommentLuv Info Panel

If you are thinking the same, here’s how to disable it. I’m unsure if it’s the best way to do it, but it works at least.

Top Commentator and CommentLuvSheepTech has joined the club! To encourage more comments and voice from our readers, SheepTech is now CommentLuv and Top Commentators enabled. If you are unfamiliar with these WordPress plugin, CommentLuv will grab your blog’s latest article and link to it whenever you post a comment.

Top Commentators plugin on the other hand, as its name suggest, will list the top 5 commentators at the sidebar. As the comment activity on this blog is low, it’s not at all difficult to get on the list. The highest commentator at the point of writing has just 2 comments, the rest being just one.

For the time being, all the links are nofollow. I might consider do-following in the future, depends on how things go.

Alright, start commenting already :D

Gmail LabsGmail Sneak Peak is a newcomer to Gmail Labs. When it is enabled, you can view any mail’s content in your inbox by right-clicking, without actually opening the mail itself.

A window overlay sort of a thing will appear, and an excerpt of your mail content will be displayed, like this:

Gmail Sneak Peak

The window is not scrollable. If the full mail content is too long to be fitted, you will have to open the mail to read it in full. That’s the reason they call it sneak peak after all.

On the top left corner of the window, there are 3 buttons—Archive, Delete & Mark as read, for convenience’s sake.

It’s useful to preview recurring emails, say, notifications email when you got a new follower on Twitter, or a blog comment moderation email. You basically know what’s the content by reading the subject alone, previewing it makes it convenient to click a link in the email without opening it.

RSS IconThere has been a long debate among bloggers whether to offer full RSS feed or just the excerpt. Some decides to provide full RSS in order to provide more value to their subscribers, while some others provides only partial RSS as it would convert into more pageviews. If your favorite blog decides to offer just partial RSS, fret not, there’s a solution to that.
